About us

Your hosts Helga Erlendsdóttir and Asmundur Gislason

After careers in teaching and the health service and raising our families, we set up Arnanes Country Hotel in 1993. We now enjoy showing our guests traditional Icelandic hospitality and take pride in the personal service we offer.

Over the winter months, Helga, a well-respected artist, puts brush to canvas to create her oil paintings and watercolours, which have been exhibited around Iceland and are on view in our gallery restaurant.
