About the Artist
Helga
Erlendsdottir was born in Reykjavik 1948. She studied art at the
Comprehensive College of Breiðholt in Reykjavik and graduated in 1992.
At the same time she studied at the Art School of Reykjavik.
Her art gallery is in the restaurant in Arnanes.
In her art work, Helga uses both oil and watercolor. Nature is the main
background in her work and because she’s living next to the greatest
glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull, Helga is full of ideas and motives.
Landscape is most often seen in Helga’s work but also abstract and
sometimes she works with all kinds’ materials and forms. Helga’s artwork
can be seen in many homes in Iceland and all over the world.
From 1997 Helga has held private exhibition every summer in Arnanes
Gallery.
